Product Specific Information
- Carrier-Free
- Reconstitution:
- Briefly centrifuge vial before opening.
- Reconstitute lyophilized recombinant human Thrombopoietin in PBS containing 0.1% human serum albumin.
- Further dilutions should be made in low endotoxin medium or buffered solution containing carrier protein (e.g., heat-inactivated FCS or tissue culture grade BSA).
- Storage:
- Store lyophilized preparation at < -20°C, preferably desiccated.
- After reconstitution, aliquot and store at < -20°C.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
Thrombopoietin (TPO, THPO, MPL ligand, megakaryocyte colony-stimulating factor) regulates platelet production by acting on hematopoietic cells committed to the megakaryocyte lineage. Binding to its receptor MPL (CD110) activates JAK/STAT, MAPK, and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways, promoting megakaryocyte proliferation and differentiation, ultimately leading to thrombopoiesis.
Thrombopoietin is constitutively produced by the liver and has a predicted molecular weight of 38 kDa.
