Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
CD81 (TAPA-1) is a member of the tetraspanin family, expressed on virtually all nucleated cells, particularly germinal center B cells. CD81 forms complexes with tetraspanins, integrins, coreceptors, and MHC molecules, influencing adhesion, morphology, activation, proliferation, and differentiation of B and T cells.
It promotes muscle cell fusion and myotube maintenance and serves as a receptor for the hepatitis C virus. CD81 associates with CD19, CD21, Leu 13, and integrins on the cell membrane and may act as a tumor-suppressor gene candidate. Antibodies to CD81 exhibit anti-proliferative effects on lymphoid cell lines, especially large cell lymphomas.
