Nuclear receptor TLX (NR2E1)은 전뇌 분화, 망막 발달, 시각 기능에 관여하는 NR2 계열 수용체입니다. TLX는 망막 발달 중 RAR beta2 및 Pax2 유전자를 조절하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. TLX 결손 생쥐는 전뇌 발달 저하, 실명 및 공격적 행동(‘fierce’ phenotype)을 보입니다. TLX 발현은 생쥐의 뇌 및 눈에서 확인되었으며, 인간 뇌 라이브러리에서도 EST가 분리되었습니다.
