Target Information
Nuclear receptor TLX (NR2E1), a NR2 hepatocyte NF4-like receptor, is involved in anterior brain differentiation, retinal development, and vision. It is suggested that TLX regulates RAR beta2 and Pax2 genes during retinal development. Homozygous TLX mutant mice show reduced forebrain development and increased aggression. TLX expression has been observed in mouse brain and eye, and ESTs have been identified from human brain libraries.
