Product Specific Information

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control tissue is breast carcinoma.

Target Information

Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of 4 RNA species and about 80 distinct proteins.
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic ribosomal protein that is part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S6E family.
It serves as a major substrate for ribosomal protein kinases, with five C-terminal serine residues phosphorylated by different kinases.
Phosphorylation is induced by growth factors, tumor-promoting agents, and mitogens, while dephosphorylation occurs during growth arrest.
The S6 protein may regulate cell growth and proliferation through selective translation of specific mRNA classes.
Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
