Product Specific Information

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is breast carcinoma tissue.

Target Information

Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic ribosomal protein that is part of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S6E family. It is a major substrate of protein kinases in the ribosome, with five C-terminal serine residues phosphorylated by different kinases.
Phosphorylation is induced by various stimuli including growth factors, tumor-promoting agents, and mitogens; dephosphorylation occurs during growth arrest.
The protein may regulate cell growth and proliferation through selective mRNA translation.
Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
