Product Specific Information

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is breast carcinoma tissue.

Target Information

Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together, these subunits are composed of four RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
The S6 ribosomal protein is a component of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S6E family. It is a major substrate of ribosomal protein kinases, with phosphorylation occurring on five C-terminal serine residues in response to stimuli such as growth factors, tumor-promoting agents, and mitogens.
Dephosphorylation occurs during growth arrest, suggesting a role in regulating cell growth and proliferation through selective translation of specific mRNA classes.
Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
