• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only before immediate use.
• This affinity-purified antibody specifically recognizes the 6X His motif and detects over-expressed His-tagged proteins in various assays.
• In Western blotting of bacterial extracts, it does not cross-react with endogenous proteins.
• Recognizes His-tag (His-His-His-His-His-His) fused to either N- or C-terminus of target proteins.

Target Information

The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH). It is commonly attached to the N- or C-terminus of recombinant proteins to enable purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).

Epitope tagging allows detection and purification of recombinant proteins using antibodies specific to the tag sequence. His-tagged proteins can be purified by Ni²⁺-NTA affinity chromatography due to the strong and selective binding of histidine residues to nickel ions.
His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
