Target Information

C1orf57 (also known as nucleoside triphosphate phosphohydrolase) belongs to the THEP1 NTPase family. It is a 190 amino acid protein with nucleotide phosphatase activity toward ATP, GTP, TTP, CTP, and UTP. Acting as a monomer, it also hydrolyzes nucleoside diphosphates with lower efficiency.

The C1orf57 gene maps to human chromosome 1, the largest human chromosome spanning about 260 million base pairs and comprising approximately 8% of the human genome. Chromosome 1 contains around 3,000 genes and is associated with numerous diseases, including Hutchinson-Gilford progeria (linked to the LMNA gene), familial adenomatous polyposis (MUTYH gene), Stickler syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Gaucher disease, and Usher syndrome.
