Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin family, which are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells. Keratins are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. Type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains.
Cytokeratin 20 is a major cellular protein of mature enterocytes and goblet cells, specifically expressed in the gastric and intestinal mucosa. The type I cytokeratin genes are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12–q21.
