Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
This gene generates several transcript variants differing in their first exons. At least three alternatively spliced variants encode distinct proteins, two of which act as CDK4 kinase inhibitors.
Another transcript includes an alternate first exon located 20 Kb upstream, encoding an ARF protein that stabilizes p53 by interacting with and sequestering MDM2, preventing p53 degradation.
Despite structural and functional differences, all isoforms contribute to cell cycle G1 control through CDK4 and p53 regulation.
This gene is frequently mutated or deleted in various tumors and functions as an important tumor suppressor.
