Description:
The YLI-90 monoclonal antibody reacts with the B6 mouse Ly-49I receptor. Ly49I, a member of the Ly49 family with inhibitory function, is a homodimer type II transmembrane protein containing an Immunoreceptor Tyrosine-based Inhibitory Motif (ITIM). YLI-90 binds to subpopulations of NK, NKT, and T cell lineages in the C57Bl/6 strain. This antibody does not bind to cells from BALB/c, SJL, or AKR/J mice.

YLI-90 has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
The YLI-90 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of C57Bl/6 and BALB/c mouse splenocytes and can be used at ≤0.25 µg per test.
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL.
Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.

Target Information

Ly49 receptors exhibit allelic specificity for MHC class I Ia molecules and are thought to prevent NK cells from attacking normal cells while allowing them to attack infected or transformed cells with down-regulated class I molecules. These inhibitory receptors are also expressed on subpopulations of mouse CD8⁺ T cells.
