Product Specific Information

This 2F1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Killer cell Lectin-like Receptor G1 (KLRG1), also known as Mast cell Function-associated Antigen (MAFA).
KLRG1 is a homodimer of glycosylated 30–38 kDa subunits containing a cytoplasmic ITIM-like motif.
It is expressed on approximately one-third of mouse NK cells and a subset of T cells.
MHC class I molecules regulate KLRG1 via interactions with class I-specific inhibitory Ly49 molecules and SHP-1 signaling.
Although KLRG1 and Ly49 are both lectin-like inhibitory receptors regulated by class I MHC expression, their cell surface expression effects differ.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg/test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume.
Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

KLRG1 (Killer cell lectin-like receptor G1, MAFA, 2F1-Ag) is a homodimeric receptor of the lectin-like type 2 transmembrane family.
It contains ITIM motifs that interact with SH2 domains of phosphatases such as SHP-1.
KLRG1 acts as an inhibitory receptor expressed on NK cells and certain T cells, which are involved in tumor and virus-infected cell lysis and immune regulation.
