Product Specific Information
The AA4.1 monoclonal antibody recognizes mouse C1qRp, a 130–140 kDa C-type lectin-like type I transmembrane protein. The AA4.1 antigen is expressed on early B cell developmental stages in bone marrow, as well as in adult spleen and fetal liver.
When combined with markers such as Thy-1, Sca-1, c-Kit, CD43, and CD24, the AA4.1 antigen helps distinguish primitive and differentiated lymphoid progenitor subsets.
Expression of surface IgM, CD23, and AA4.1 defines three immature B cell subsets:
- T1: AA4.1⁺ / CD23⁻ / sIgM^hi
- T2: AA4.1⁺ / CD23⁺ / sIgM^hi
- T3: AA4.1⁺ / CD23⁺ / sIgM^lo
AA4.1 is also detected in endothelial cells, megakaryoblasts, and platelets. The AA4.1 and 493 antibodies recognize different epitopes of the same molecule.

Target Information
The encoded protein is a type I membrane glycoprotein originally identified as a myeloid cell marker. It is implicated in intercellular adhesion and apoptotic cell clearance. The cytoplasmic tail interacts with moesin, linking it to cytoskeletal remodeling processes.
