Target Information
This gene encodes a C2H2 type zinc-finger protein similar to mouse Bcl11a/Evi9. The mouse homolog is frequently involved in retroviral integration in myeloid leukemia and may contribute to leukemia pathogenesis through interaction with BCL6. Expression is down-regulated during hematopoietic differentiation and deregulated in certain B-cell malignancies. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist.
