Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

Neurofilaments (NFs) are intermediate filaments expressed almost exclusively in neuronal cells, especially in large axons.
They consist of three major subunits:

  • NF-M (medium)
  • NF-H (high)
  • NF-L (light)

These subunits share a coiled-coil core domain but differ in N- and C-terminal regions.
NF-M tail-mediated interactions are essential for axonal size and cytoskeletal architecture.
Phosphorylation and O-GlcNAcylation of NF-M regulate its function and filament formation.
Antibodies against neurofilament subunits are valuable neuronal markers due to their abundance, neuron-specific expression, and biochemical stability.
