Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

MDM2 is a ubiquitin ligase for p53 and plays a central role in regulating p53 stability. Located on chromosome 12q, MDM2 phosphorylation by Akt enhances its interaction with p300, promoting ubiquitination and degradation of p53. Phosphorylation also reduces binding to p19ARF, further increasing p53 degradation. Overexpression of MDM2 leads to p53 inactivation and reduced tumor suppressor function. MDM2 participates in apoptosis and cell cycle regulation and is overexpressed in various human cancers, including soft tissue carcinomas and breast cancer. It also interacts with proteins such as retinoblastoma 1 and ribosomal protein L5. More than 40 alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified in both tumor and normal tissues.
