MA1-21592 detects CD11b/c (FITC) in Rat samples.
Target Information
Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha and a beta chain. CD11b is involved in adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes, mediating uptake of complement-coated particles. It is identical to CR3, the receptor for the iC3b fragment of complement component 3. CD11b also serves as a receptor for fibrogen, factor X, and ICAM1, recognizing P1 and P2 peptides of the fibrogen gamma chain. The Mac1 CD11b antigen is expressed on macrophages, granulocytes, NK cells, and monocytes, and is used as a microglial marker in nervous tissue. CD11c encodes the integrin alpha X chain, forming the leukocyte-specific integrin CR4 with beta 2 (ITGB2). The alpha X beta 2 complex overlaps with alpha M beta 2 in neutrophil and monocyte adherence and phagocytosis of complement-coated particles. Mutations in CD11b/c are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus 6.
