Product Specific Information
The MQ2-13A5 antibody reacts with human interleukin-6 (IL-6), a 21–28 kDa cytokine secreted by various cell types.
This antibody is reported for use in intracellular flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of stimulated human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number per test: 10⁵–10⁸ cells (empirically determined).
Careful titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Excitation / Emission: 488–561 nm / 578 nm

Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B-cell maturation.
It acts as an endogenous pyrogen that can induce fever in autoimmune or infectious diseases.
IL-6 is primarily expressed at inflammation sites and secreted into serum, inducing transcriptional inflammatory responses via the IL-6 receptor alpha.
It is implicated in various inflammation-associated diseases such as diabetes mellitus, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Kaposi sarcoma, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Elevated IL-6 levels have been observed in viral infections, including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
