Product Specific Information
The 5D3-F7 antibody reacts with human, cynomolgus, and rhesus monkey MCP-1 (CCL2), also known as MCAF. MCP-1 is a CC chemokine dimer derived from monocytes and vascular endothelial cells, showing chemoattractant activity for monocytes, basophils, T cells, and NK cells via CCR2, CCR5, and CCR10.

Used for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells using the Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00) according to BestProtocols®: Protocol A.
Recommended usage ≤ 0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell numbers may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information
CCL2 (MCP-1) is a cytokine gene located on chromosome 17q, part of the cytokine family involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. It shows chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils, but not for neutrophils or eosinophils, and is implicated in diseases such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis. It binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
