Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody miap301 reacts to CD47 (also known as integrin-associated protein, IAP, and neurophilin).
CD47 is a glycosylated five-transmembrane protein with a small cytoplasmic domain. It is involved in adhesion through interactions with SIRP (signal regulator protein) and is non-covalently associated with β3 integrins (CD51/CD61, CD41/CD61). It also serves as a receptor for thrombospondin.

CD47 expression is found in most hematopoietic cells (T/B cells, monocytes, platelets, erythrocytes) as well as non-hematopoietic cells. No cross-reactivity is seen against human CD47.

Target Information

CD47 (integrin-associated protein, IAP) is a ubiquitously expressed transmembrane glycoprotein that interacts with integrins and regulates their functions. Engagement of CD47 modulates various signaling pathways, including activation of heterotrimeric G proteins and intracellular calcium increase upon adhesion to the extracellular matrix.

CD47 also acts as a receptor for the C-terminal domain of thrombospondin and plays roles in membrane transport and signal transduction. It binds CD172a (SIRPα) on macrophages, preventing phagocytosis of CD47-positive cells. Additionally, the CD47–CD172a interaction influences cell migration, B cell adhesion, T cell activation, chondrocyte mechanotransduction, and neuronal development, with high expression in synapse-rich brain and retina regions.
