Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody B6H12 reacts with CD47, also known as integrin-associated protein (IAP) and neurophilin.
CD47 is a glycosylated five-transmembrane protein involved in adhesion through interactions with SIRP and associated with beta3 integrins (CD51/CD61, CD41/CD61).
This interaction mediates bidirectional signaling affecting neural synaptic activity and macrophage phagocytosis. CD47 serves as a receptor for thrombospondin, influencing T cell activation or apoptosis under high thrombospondin levels.
Stimulation of CD47 by monoclonal antibody can induce CD4+CD25- suppressive activity and increase Foxp3 expression.
Expression is found in most hematopoietic cells (T/B cells, monocytes, platelets, erythrocytes) and non-hematopoietic cells.
This antibody has neutralizing activity.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (1 µg)/test (100 µL final volume).
Cell numbers may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

CD47 (Integrin-associated protein, IAP) is a ubiquitously expressed transmembrane glycoprotein that interacts with integrins and modulates signaling pathways such as G protein activation.
CD47 functions as a receptor for the C-terminal domain of thrombospondin, participating in membrane transport and signal transduction.
It serves as a ligand for CD172a (SIRPα) on macrophages, preventing phagocytosis of CD47-positive cells.
The CD47–CD172a system influences cell migration, B cell adhesion, T cell activation, chondrocyte mechanotransduction, and neuronal development—especially in brain and retina.
