Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates. Advantages include:

Target Information

Apoptosis Inducing Factor (AIF) causes chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation. AIF localizes in mitochondria and translocates to the nucleus upon apoptosis induction, releasing apoptogenic proteins such as cytochrome c and caspase-9. It is highly conserved between human and mouse and widely expressed. Mutations in the AIF gene cause combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 6, leading to severe mitochondrial encephalomyopathy. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants, and a pseudogene exists on chromosome 10.
