Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody 2H7CD155 recognizes CD155, also known as the poliovirus receptor.
CD155 is a member of the Ig superfamily with four isoforms; only the alpha and delta forms are expressed on the membrane of monocytes, prostate cancer cells, and neurectodermal or monocytic tumor cell lines.
It is also found during mid-gastrulation in embryonic development. CD155 participates in adhesion through interaction with vitronectin and plays a role in NK cell-mediated killing of tumor cells.
Ligands for CD155 include CD226 and CD96.
Blocking of CD155 is under therapeutic investigation for prevention of poliovirus variants.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells or the U937 human tumor cell line.
Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL.
Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily.
Its external domain mediates cell attachment to vitronectin, while the intracellular domain interacts with dynein light chain Tctex-1/DYNLT1.
This gene is specific to the primate lineage and serves as a cellular receptor for poliovirus in the initial step of viral replication.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
