Product Specific Information

The mShad150 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD150, a ~70 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein also known as Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule (SLAM). CD150 is expressed by T cells (especially Th1) and B cells, with rapid upregulation upon activation. It is also expressed by immature thymocytes and dendritic cells.

Signaling through SLAM in T cells induces proliferation and enhances the interferon-gamma response. SLAM may also mediate adhesion between T cells and antigen-presenting cells. The mShad150 antibody has been reported to stain the CD150⁺CD244⁻CD48⁻CD41⁻ population of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells.

Target Information

CD150 (SLAM, Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily involved in T cell stimulation. It is constitutively expressed on peripheral blood memory T cells, T cell clones, immature thymocytes, and some B cells, and is rapidly induced on naive T cells upon activation.

Activated B cells express membrane-bound, soluble, and cytoplasmic isoforms of SLAM. SLAM–SLAM interactions enhance B cell expansion and differentiation. The extracellular domain of CD150 acts as a receptor for the measles virus and functions as a co-activator on T and B cells. CD150 interacts with SH2D1A and PTPN11 via its cytoplasmic domain, and mutations in the CD150 gene may be associated with X-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLP).
