Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18) is a type I cytoskeletal protein found in non-squamous epithelia, adenocarcinomas, and ductal carcinomas, but not in squamous cell carcinomas.
It is co-expressed with cytokeratin 8 in tissues of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urogenital tracts, as well as endocrine and mesothelial cells.
Mutations in the KRT18 gene are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns assist in distinguishing epithelial malignancies and are valuable in immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry assays.
