For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18) is a type A (acidic) low molecular weight keratin that pairs with cytokeratin 8. It is expressed in tissues of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urogenital tracts, as well as endocrine and exocrine tissues and mesothelial cells.
CK18 is primarily found in non-squamous epithelia and is present in most adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas, but not in squamous cell carcinomas. Hepatocellular carcinomas express only cytokeratins 8 and 18.
Mutations in the CK18 gene have been linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encode the same protein. Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns aid in distinguishing epithelial malignancies and serve as valuable tools in immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry assays.
