Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step.

Target Information
FGF2 (fibroblast growth factor basic, FGFb) is a member of the FGF family that binds high-affinity transmembrane receptors to regulate cell proliferation and tissue neovascularization.
It exists in five isoforms with distinct intracellular localizations and functions:
- The 18 kDa isoform is cytosolic and acts through cell surface receptors.
- The 22, 22.5, 24, and 34 kDa isoforms are nuclear and may signal independently of transmembrane receptor pathways.
In humans, the FGF2 gene is located on chromosome 4q.
FGF2 is involved in various biological processes, including limb and nervous system development, wound healing, and tumor growth.
Its mRNA contains multiple polyadenylation sites and can be translated from both AUG and non-AUG codons, producing isoforms with distinct localization and functions:
- CUG-initiated isoforms: nuclear, responsible for intracrine effects
- AUG-initiated isoform: cytosolic, responsible for paracrine and autocrine effects
Diseases associated with FGF2 dysfunction include Kaposi Sarcoma and corneal neovascularization.
