Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45600 was sufficient for detection of GluN2A/NR2A in 20 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 170 kDa.
- Does not react with NR2B.
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S327-95.
Target Information
N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors are ionotropic glutamate-gated ion channels involved in long-term potentiation, an activity-dependent increase in synaptic transmission efficiency linked to memory and learning. NMDA receptor channels are heteromeric complexes composed of the key receptor subunit NMDAR1 (GRIN1) and one or more of the four NMDAR2 subunits: NMDAR2A (GRIN2A), NMDAR2B (GRIN2B), NMDAR2C (GRIN2C), and NMDAR2D (GRIN2D). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
