Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45605 was sufficient for detection of Notch1 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects >270 kDa. Does not cross-react with Notch2 or Notch3.
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S253-32.
Target Information
The Notch gene family encodes transmembrane proteins with multiple cysteine-rich EGF-like repeats in the extracellular region. In mammals, four Notch genes (Notch1–4) are involved in cell differentiation, particularly in the nervous system.
Delta and Serrate are known ligands of Notch1. Mature Notch proteins are heterodimeric receptors formed by cleavage into an extracellular subunit (NEC) and a transmembrane subunit (Ntm).
