Product Specific Information
The 390 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD31 (PECAM-1, gpIIa), a 130–140 kDa surface protein expressed on endothelial cells, leukocytes, and platelets. CD31 mediates homotypic adhesion and is involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions and signal transduction.
Each product includes:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported:
Flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue sections).
Applications Tested:
- Flow cytometry: ≤ 0.6 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
- Immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue): ≤ 20 µg/mL
Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, or DAPI.
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for compatibility.
- CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) must be used for optimal staining.
- Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.
- For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).
NovaFluor conjugates are based on Phiton™ technology, utilizing novel nucleic acid dye structures designed for optimized fluorescence performance with minimal spillover and spread.

Target Information
CD31 (PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling via ITIM motifs. It is expressed throughout the vascular system, mainly at cell junctions, and mediates homophilic binding essential for cell-cell interactions. CD31 plays roles in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immune regulation, and thrombosis.
