Product Specific Information

The II/41 monoclonal antibody recognizes the mu heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not react with IgD, IgG, or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly in early B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells. Fluorochrome-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.

Each product includes:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells (≤1.0 µg/test). A test is defined as the amount of antibody to stain cells in 100 µL final volume. Recommended to titrate for optimal performance.

Note:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for compatibility.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
  • Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.
  • For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology with engineered fluorescent signatures that minimize spillover and spread.

Mouse IgM is the first antibody produced during an immune response and plays a key role in complement activation and antigen agglutination. It consists of five heavy and five light chains and is essential for neutralizing pathogens. Widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
