Target Information

Cytokeratin pan is a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity. In human epithelial tissues, at least 20 distinct cytokeratin polypeptides (numbered 1–20) are expressed, with molecular weights ranging from 40–68 kDa and isoelectric points between pH 4.9–7.8.
Expression patterns of cytokeratin subtypes vary by epithelial type, differentiation stage, growth environment, and disease state. These patterns assist in distinguishing epithelial malignancies and are valuable in tumor diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
Keratins serve as important biomarkers in cancer research and tumor identification.
