The Caspase 10 gene encodes a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution phase of cell apoptosis.

- Exists as inactive proenzymes that undergo proteolytic processing to form active dimers
- Cleaves and activates caspases 3 and 7
- Processed by caspase 8
- Mutations are linked to apoptosis defects in type II autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome
