Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with deionized water (or equivalent). Product is stable at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Do not freeze after reconstitution. Store reagent in the dark and use subdued lighting during handling and incubation.
Anti-AKT1 antibody detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms of AKT1. Cross-reactivity with other species is expected based on sequence identity (mouse 85%, rat 92%).
Target Information
AKT1 (PKB alpha) is a serine/threonine kinase regulating cell survival. Activated AKT1 inhibits apoptosis and promotes cell cycle progression by phosphorylating targets in various cell types, including cancer cells. It is activated by insulin, PI3K, IGF1, and other growth factors. The AKT pathway is a key target for cancer drug discovery.
