Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with deionized water or equivalent. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only before immediate use. Expiration date is one year from restoration.
Anti-AKT1 antibody detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms of AKT1. Cross-reactivity with mouse and rat is expected due to high sequence identity (85% and 92%, respectively).
Target Information
AKT1 (PKB alpha) is a serine/threonine kinase regulating cell survival. It inhibits apoptosis and promotes cell cycle progression through phosphorylation of multiple substrates. Activated by insulin, PI3K, IGF1, and other growth factors. The AKT pathway is a major target in cancer drug discovery.
