Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. Advantages include improved specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity due to the large rabbit immune repertoire.
Target Information
DAZL is involved in mitosis and meiosis of human germ cells. The DAZL gene family encodes RNA-binding proteins expressed in prenatal and postnatal germ cells of both sexes. The protein is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of fetal germ cells and to the cytoplasm of developing oocytes. In humans, DAZL is expressed in primordial germ cells, adult testis, and ovary, playing a central role in spermatogenesis. Defects in DAZL can cause infertility due to severe oligozoospermia and non-obstructive azoospermia. Lower DAZL transcript levels are observed in men with spermatogenic failure. Drosophila and mouse mutants lacking DAZ homologs are azoospermic, similar to human DAZ-related azoospermia. Gene transposition and amplification during primate evolution gave rise to the DAZ gene cluster on the Y chromosome.
