Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody HP-F1 recognizes CD85j (ILT2, LILRB1, LIR1), a member of the ILT/LIR/MIR family. CD85j is a transmembrane glycoprotein with four ITIMs that signal through SHP-1.
Expression is found on myeloid (monocytes, dendritic cells) and lymphoid cells (NK, T, B subsets). It is correlated with leukemias (ALL, CLL) and viral infections (HIV, EBV, CMV).
Ligands include MHC Class I molecules (HLA-G, A, F, B27, E, F). HP-F1 reduces CD16-dependent cytolytic activity of NK cells.
Each product contains:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Use 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for NovaFluor dyes.
- CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
- Add 5 µL per sample before combining with cells.
- For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).
NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, offering engineered fluorescent signatures optimized for spillover and spread characteristics.

Target Information
The CD85j gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, located at chromosome 19q13.4.
It encodes a receptor with extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane region, and cytoplasmic ITIM motifs.
Expressed on immune cells, it binds MHC class I molecules to transmit inhibitory signals, regulating inflammation and cytotoxicity.
Multiple transcript variants exist.
