Target Information
STING is a 379 amino acid signaling protein that plays a key role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-kappa-B and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α and IFN-β) expression, promoting antiviral responses. STING may also function as a translocon, influencing interferon induction and apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and outer mitochondrial membrane, and is broadly expressed across various tissues.
