Product Specific Information

For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Mouse anti-Bovine CD4 antibody, clone CC8, recognizes bovine CD4 (homolog of human CD4) and immunoprecipitates an approximately 50 kDa molecule.

Target Information

The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is primarily expressed on T helper cells but can also be found on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression is observed in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and specific regions of the brain and gut.
CD4 plays a role in initiating T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck. It may also mediate neuronal damage in infectious and immune-related CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
