Target Information

MMP10 belongs to the matrix metalloproteinase family and is secreted in its pro form, which is further activated by extracellular proteinases. As a metalloproteinase, MMP10 requires zinc and calcium as cofactors for activity. It is involved in activation of pro-collagenase, collagen catabolism, fibronectin degradation, and tissue remodeling. In humans, the MMP10 gene is located on chromosome 11.
