Description:
The MAR-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilon Receptor I alpha subunit (FcεRIα), an IgE-binding component lacking signal-transducing capability. This receptor is expressed on mast and basophil cells and upregulated by IgE presence. FcεRIα forms a tetrameric complex with one β and two γ subunits, which contain ITAM motifs responsible for signal activation. The FcεRI complex is crucial for initiating IgE-mediated allergic reactions.

Applications Reported:

• Flow cytometric analysis
• Blocking of IgE binding to FcεRI
• Inhibition of mast cell degranulation

Applications Tested:
Tested in flow cytometric analysis of MC/9 mouse mast cell line. Recommended ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal performance requires empirical titration (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

FceR1 (FcεRIα):
FcεRIα is a subunit of the high-affinity IgE receptor complex consisting of one α, one β, and two γ subunits. The β and γ subunits mediate signal transduction, triggering allergic responses. When allergen-bound IgE cross-links FcεRIα, mediators such as histamine are released, leading to hypersensitivity reactions like hay fever and asthma. This receptor plays a key role in coupling allergens with mast cells to initiate inflammatory responses.
