Target Information
LAMP2 (Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 2, CD107b) is a lysosomal membrane protein involved in lysosome biogenesis, maintenance, and fusion with phagosomes.
It provides selectins with carbohydrate ligands and may play a role in tumor cell metastasis and lysosomal protection.
- Unmodified LAMP2: ~46 kDa
- Mature glycosylated form: 100–130 kDa
- Structure: large intra-lysosomal domain, hydrophobic transmembrane domain, short cytoplasmic tail
- Isoforms: LAMP-2A, LAMP-2B, LAMP-2C
- Used to monitor chaperone-mediated autophagy
- Deficiency causes autophagosome accumulation leading to cardiomyopathy and myopathy (Danon’s disease)
