Product Specific Information
Description:
The SIDI8BEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and rhesus macaque CD8 beta. The CD8b chain associates with the CD8a chain to form the CD8ab heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and cytotoxic αβ T cells. The CD8 receptor complex binds MHC class I and is involved in T cell development and activation.
SIDI8BEE detects CD8β in both CD8αβ heterodimer and CD8ββ homodimer, and is cross-reactive with human and rhesus macaque CD8b.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry of human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Use 5 µL (0.125 µg) per 100 µL test volume.

eFluor® 660 replaces Alexa Fluor® 647, excited by red laser (633 nm) and emits at 668 nm.
Ensure the instrument supports this fluorochrome.

Target Information
The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes, mediating cell-cell interactions within the immune system. Acting as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor, CD8 recognizes antigens presented by MHC class I molecules. The CD8 receptor may exist as a homodimer (αα) or heterodimer (αβ). Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains.
This gene encodes the CD8 beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced variants. A pseudogene is also located on chromosome 2.
