Product Specific Information

The monoclonal rat IgG1 kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
This eBRG1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Internal testing indicates that Alexa Fluor 561 may non-specifically stain B cells in Swiss Webster and SJL mice, but not in BALB/c or C57BL/6 mice. Other strains have not been tested.
It has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and normal human peripheral blood cells and should be used at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.

Alexa Fluor 561 emits at 575 nm and is suitable for spectral cytometers, allowing multiplexing with PE and PE-eFluor 610.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced by rats in response to antigens. It is commonly used as a negative control in immunoassays such as immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting, as it does not bind to most mammalian antigens.
These antibodies can be purified from serum or hybridoma cell culture supernatants.
Gene targeting techniques utilizing rat IgG1 are valuable for generating animal models to study human diseases by modifying specific genes.
