Product Specific Information
2 µg/mL was sufficient for detection of HSP90 alpha in 20 µg of heat-shocked HeLa cell lysate and 100 ng of human HSP90 alpha protein by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Recognizes approximately 90 kDa. Can isolate complexes of HSP90, Src kinase, and cec37.
Target Information
HSP90 proteins are highly conserved molecular chaperones involved in signal transduction, protein folding, degradation, and morphologic evolution.
They associate with cochaperones to fold newly synthesized proteins or stabilize and refold denatured proteins after stress.
Major cytosolic forms include HSP90AA1 (inducible) and HSP90AB1, as well as mitochondrial variants (Chen et al., 2005).
