DELTA-4 affinity purified antibody is directed against human DELTA-4.
BLAST analysis indicates 100% homology with human DELTA-4 and ~91% homology with mouse, rat, and chimpanzee DELTA-4.
Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.
Target Information
Delta-like ligand 4 (DLL4), also known as Delta-4, is a transmembrane ligand for the Notch1 receptor and plays a key role in vascular development.
It is induced by VEGF and acts as a negative feedback regulator in angiogenic sprouting, promoting a differentiated vascular network.
DLL4 is strongly expressed in tumor vessels of clear-cell renal tumors and bladder cancer.
Inhibition of DLL4 leads to increased vascular proliferation but defective maturation, resulting in reduced tumor growth without apparent toxicity.
