Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human ROBO-1 protein. A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with human, mouse, rat, and dog ROBO-1 proteins based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Cross-reactivity will occur with all isoforms of ROBO-1. Cross-reactivity with homologues from other species has not been determined.

Target Information

Specialized cells at the midline of the central nervous system (CNS) direct growth cone behavior. In vertebrates, insects, and C. elegans, midline cells produce guidance cues such as nectins (attractants) and slit (repellents). Robo is an axon guidance receptor belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, conserved from fruit flies to mammals. Robo acts as a receptor for Slit and functions cell-autonomously. Non-crossing axons express high levels of Robo, whereas crossing axons express low levels before reaching the midline and high levels after crossing.
Robo1 and Robo2 are human homologs of the Drosophila protein Roundabout. Robo1 is homologous to the C. elegans gene sax3, and Robo2 to the zebrafish gene astray.
