Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
TBX1 belongs to a phylogenetically conserved family of genes sharing a common DNA-binding domain known as the T-box. These genes encode transcription factors that regulate developmental processes. TBX1 shares 98% amino acid sequence identity with the mouse ortholog. Deletions in chromosome 22q11.2, where TBX1 is located, are associated with DiGeorge syndrome (DGS) and velocardiofacial syndrome (VCFS), congenital disorders characterized by neural crest-related developmental defects. Mouse models suggest TBX1 plays a major role in the molecular etiology of DGS/VCFS. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
