This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human CTRP6.
PEP-0273 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20154.
Target Information
Adipose tissue plays a key role in regulating physiological and pathological processes such as metabolism and immunity by producing and secreting bioactive molecules called adipokines.
The adiponectin/ACRP30 family and its paralogs, C1q/TNF-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1–7, are highly conserved adipokines.
Unlike adiponectin, which is expressed exclusively by differentiated adipocytes, CTRPs are expressed in various tissues and mainly act on liver and muscle to control glucose and lipid metabolism.
CTRPs share structural similarity with TNF and C1q-containing proteins, suggesting common evolutionary origins.
CTRP6 contains at least four glycosylation motifs, indicating potential post-translational modification.
